Children’s Therapy

minnesota Counselor

Why therapy?

Having a child or adolescent who is experiencing emotional distress or behavioral management difficulties is heartbreaking for many parents. Parents often feel frustrated and sometime inadequate with not knowing how to help. Counseling or child psychology is a great step to help you feel supported, knowing your child or adolescent is learning to manage their behavior, deal with the challenges of new life situations, and/or cope with their emotions. This can lead to a myriad of benefits later in life, such as having effective skills for behaving, being able to understand and express their feelings, and knowing how to interact successfully with others. The psychologists at CARE Counseling understand that your child’s behaviors may reflect challenges and experiences from different areas of their life which are impacted by their developmental stage.

Our psychologists work with children from age 3 to 18 to help them prepare to deal more effectively with life’s obstacles and challenges. They also help parents develop effective parenting strategies that support emotional and behavioral growth. Children may be seen individually, with their families, or in group.
