Life is complex. Navigating the many turns through life’s journey can be challenging and rewarding. It takes profound courage to ask for support along the way. I acknowledge and understand how difficult it can be to let someone into your world, which is why I strive to be authentic in all interactions and remain open to each unique, individual who entrusts me with their story. I offer an encouraging, warm, and collaborative approach to healing and welcome couples, families, children, adolescents, and adults.
When working with couples, I provide an empathetic approach towards helping you and your partner work through the challenges of life together. Your partner is the person you have chosen to walk this life with and is arguably the most important relationship you will have. Sometimes, this relationship can become less passionate and exciting over time, leading you to feel more like roommates than romantic partners. Whatever the challenge in your relationship, you and your partner can expect a respectful and cooperative therapeutic process, allowing room for growth. I see couples from diverse populations and from any stage in their relationship.
All too often, parents are criticized for their parenting techniques. I believe parents deserve to feel supported and encouraged as they do their absolute best to raise their children. I am a certified Active Parenting instructor and will work with you and your family to help you feel more successful as a parent and provide research-based care.
Children and adolescents are trying to make sense of the world around them through their families, friends and society. I will partner with your child or adolescent to help them feel they have a voice and that they matter. I use a variety of techniques in working with children and adolescents, specific to their needs. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and their families to better understand how the use of social media, social networking sites, and video games are changing the way we connect.
Previously, I provided individual and family services for adults with educational disabilities and transitional needs at a Transitional high school in Minneapolis. I received my undergraduate degree in Communication Arts with an emphasis in radio, television, and film from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my Master’s degree from Alfred Adler Graduate School in Richfield, MN. I am currently working towards Licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy and am under clinical supervision.
