Maggie O’Malley, M.A.

minneapolis Depression therapy, north minneapolis Family mental health

It takes courage to seek support, whether it be during times of suffering or during a period of change, and the focus of my practice is to provide support by working together to cultivate inner strength and self-understanding. I believe we are not meant to experience our lives alone and that we can experience an overwhelming feeling of loneliness from experiencing suffering, trauma, illness, loss of loved ones, and identity development. I want to be there with you in your journey towards well-being and promote a holistic approach to therapy and overall well-being. When we start therapy, I will work to make our time together a non-judgmental and safe space to share your stories and challenges. I believe that everybody has the right to be heard and to share their story. I have experience working with adults with domestic abuse / relationship violence, co-occurring mental and chemical health issues, interpersonal issues, severe and persistent mental illness, and trauma.

I grew up in Southern Minnesota and moved to the cities to complete my Bachelors of Art in Psychology at the University of Minnesota. After falling in love with the Twin Cities, I continued my education at the University of St. Thomas and graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. I am excited to continue to build my practice and community at Care Counseling. My role at Care is as a Mental Health Practitioner and I’m currently working under supervision towards my licensure for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). In my free time, I enjoy everything DIY related, attempting new recipes, and can’t wait to curl up on the couch with a good book at the end of the day.
