When bad days start to feel like bad weeks, know that you are not alone. It would be an honor to get to know you or your child better and develop an effective plan to address whatever challenges you may be facing at school, work, or home. Life can be very stressful not only for adults but also for children and begin to take its toll on our physical and emotional health. Working together, we can restore balance and develop new ways to cope. By providing a safe environment build on trust, you can be your authentic self without judgment. I will listen and offer support, encouragement, and motivation towards achieving your desired outcome.
I work with children (ages 5+), adolescents, and adults for individual and family therapy. I enjoy a collaborative style while being flexible and utilizing evidenced-based and creative approaches that are tailored to you/ your child’s needs such as play therapy and expressive arts. I’ve worked with a wide range of presenting concerns from adjusting to loss of relationships due to factors such as death, separation, or incarceration to serious emotional and behavioral concerns. I also have a very good knowledge of working with child development and neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g. attention-deficit, autism spectrum) in addition to anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, and posttraumatic stress. Specialized experience includes providing school-based therapy, working with culturally diverse families involved in foster care, child protective services and juvenile probation, and the public school system. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children ages 6-18. I have also worked with women/ families experiencing homelessness and substance abuse. Personal and career development is an area of interest.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Industrial-Organizational emphasis, Minor in Communications) from Augsburg University and my Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Board Approved Supervisor.
