Taking the step to ask for help for you or your child is a courageous one. I will meet you and your family where you are at and tailor my approach to fit your style and specific needs. Whether you are coming to talk about your own life or to learn how to best care for your child’s needs, I will work to make sure you feel supported, heard, and understood. I provide a safe place for you to process and talk about things that happen in your life, memories from the past, or thoughts and emotions that may feel overwhelming. For parents, I help you understand why your child is acting anxious, defiant, or sad, and give you tools to support them. More than anything, I seek to be an empathetic partner to you or your family in your journey toward healing.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and families who have experienced difficult circumstances or who have emotional and behavioral difficulties. I have specialized experience and training in working with children ages 0-5 and their caregivers. For children and adolescents, I incorporate play and art therapies to encourage them to process their experiences and express themselves.
I speak Spanish and offer services in Spanish, English, or a combination of both. I work with children (ages 0-18), families, and adults. I have experience working with a variety of situations and symptoms including: anxiety, depression, trauma, attention difficulties, autism, acting-out behaviors, and social skills issues. I also enjoy working with parents and children to strengthen their attachment relationship and resolve conflicts.
I received undergraduate degrees in both Spanish and Psychology from Bethel University and my Master’s degree in Social Work from St. Catherine’s University/University of St. Thomas
