minneapolis therapist

Life is always changing, from season to season. Unexpected events can make it challenging to cope with your usual strength and confidence. Transitions in life such as beginning or ending school, a job, or a relationship can leave you feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or lonely. Conflicting cultural expectations can also be isolating and make you feel alone.

During times of increased stress, you might find you’re struggling with sleep, eating too much or can’t find your appetite, and lacking motivation. Children may demand extra attention from family members, act out of character, or throw tantrums that can be irritating, confusing, and exhausting. Sometimes, adolescents change their friend groups, hide when they come home from school, or avoid activities that usually interest them, which in turn, can impact relationships with other family members.

Everyone experiences change differently and sometimes sharing these painful feelings can be most difficult with those closest to you. Finding a safe relationship with someone outside of the situation can be helpful. As a therapist, partnering with you and your family to find solutions to these challenges that incorporate your strengths, your beliefs, and your values, is my priority. I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents who are affected by emotional, behavioral, and relational concerns.

My goal is to provide culturally sensitive care in our work together. I have experience working with Grief, Autism Spectrum disorders, Anxiety disorders, Mood disorders, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I have supported families through Special Education evaluations and young adults transitioning from high school to college.

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Argosy University Twin Cities and my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Saint Thomas. As a practicum student, I a supervised by a Licensed Psychologist. I am currently working toward my Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at the University of Saint Thomas.
